ConnecWrk offers a suite of Services (defined in the Terms of Use) to users who register on the ConnecWrk platform (Hereinafter “Members”) from time to time, including amongst others off-site services, such as ad services and plugins.Please take a moment to read this Policy which explains how we collect, use, disclose and transfer the personal information that you provide to us on the ConnecWrk platform,at the time of registration and while using the ConnecWrk platform.

Introduction
 By registering on the ConnecWrk platform “Members” are able to use the Services offered therein. Some of our Services may be available to non-members (“Visitors”).

Consent
If you use our Services, you consent to the collection, use and sharing of your personal data as provided under this Privacy Policy (which includes our Cookie Policy and other documents referenced in this Privacy Policy) and agree to the User Agreement.

Information You Provide To Us

Registration and basic account information

Personal Information: Includes information that whether on its own or in combination with other information may be used to readily identify or contact you such as: name, address, email address, phone number and other information/documents you upload, post, share on the ConnecWrk platform etc. If you choose to create an account on connecwrk.com, you must provide us with some data and personal information including your name, email address and/or mobile number, and a password, as well as other information you directly give us on our ConnecWrk platform. Your name and username are always listed publicly, including on your profile page and search results.

Some of our product features, such as searching and viewing public user profiles on ConnecWrk, do not require you to create an account. If you register for a premium Service, we ask you for payment (e.g., credit card) and billing information. In addition, we may also collect personal information from you when you correspond with us (for example, when you send us e-mail communications or letters, or by telephone).

Your Profile, Contact Management

The following sections of the Personal Data you have made available to ConnecWrk, is visible to all other Members of ConnecWrk:

  • First name and last name
  • Professional status
  • Organization name
  • Position /Title
  • Industry and Sub Industry
  • Country, state and city of your organization
  • Photograph/Profile picture if provided.

All other Members of ConnecWrk may access your Profile and view the information shown on the Profile, including data you have specified to be made available to all other ConnecWrk Members.

The following personal statistics are visible to all members of ConnecWrk, at all times:

  • Number of contacts you have on ConnecWrk
  • Membership Type

On your profile you will find an activity meter. This meter shows your posts and articles on ConnecWrk platform.

The information that you post to create your Profile will help you to get more from our Services, including professional opportunities or helping recruiters find you . It’s your discretion whether to include sensitive information on your profile. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly visible.

Posting and Uploading

We collect personal data from you when you provide, post or upload it to our Services, such as when you fill out a form, respond to a survey, submit a resume and apply for or save jobs or send invitations.

Information We Get From Others

We may get information about you from other sources. Others may post or write about you. We may add this to information we get from this site.

Content and News

You and others may post content that includes information about you on our Services (as part of blog posts, feed updates and comments, videos). We collect public information about you, such as professional-related news and accomplishments (e.g., patents granted, professional recognition, conference speakers, projects, etc.) and make it available as part of our Services (e.g. suggestions for your profile, or notifications of mentions in the news).

Service Use

We log your visits and use of our Services, including mobile apps. When you privately communicate with others through our Services, such as by sending and receiving Direct Messages, we will store and process your communications, and information related to them. Please note that if you interact with public content shared with you via Direct Message, for instance by liking a post shared via Direct Message, those interactions may be public. When you use features like Direct Messages to communicate privately, please remember that recipients may copy, store, and re-share the contents of your communications.

Workplace Provided Information

When your employer buys a premium Service for you to use at work, they may give us data about you.

An employer (or other person or entity procuring our Services for your use) may provide us information about their employees or contractors who make use of these Services. For example, we will get contact information for administrators who create a “Company Profile” and for authorizing users of our premium Services.

Other

We are improving our Services, which means we get new data and create new ways to use data

Our Services are dynamic and we often introduce new features, which may require the collection of new information. If we collect materially different personal data or materially change how we use your data, we will notify you and may also modify this Privacy Policy.

We will use data about you (such as profiles you have viewed or data provided through address book uploads or partner integrations) to suggest connections for you and others (e.g. Members who share your contacts) and enable you to invite others to become a Member and connect with you. It is your choice whether to invite someone to our Services, send a connection request, or allow another Member to become your connection. When you invite someone to connect with you, your invitation will include your name, photo, network and contact information. We will send invitation reminders to the person you invited. You can choose whether or not to share your own list of connections with your connections.

Visitors have choices about how we use their data.

Our Services allow you to stay informed about news, events and ideas regarding topics you care about and that matter to you. We use the information about you to recommend relevant content across our Services, suggest skills you may have to add to your profile. So, if you let us know that you are interested in a new skill, we will use this information to personalize content in your feed. We use your content, activity and other data, including your name and picture, to provide notices to your network and others. Depending on your settings, we may send notifications to other members that you have updated your profile, posted a blog, made new connections or if there was a mention of you in the news.

Contact Information

You may use your contact information, such as your email address or phone number, to customize your account or enable certain account features, for example, for login verification. If you provide us with your phone number, you agree to receive text messages to that number from us. We may use your contact information to send you information about our Services, to market to you, to help prevent spam, fraud, or abuse, and to help others find your account, including through third-party services and client applications.

Career

Your profile can be found by recruiters (for a job or a specific task) or be hired by you. We will use your data to recommend jobs, show you and others who work at a company, in an industry, function or location or have certain skills and connections.

We may use your profile and activity to recommend jobs to you and you to recruiters.

Our Services allow you to collaborate with colleagues, search for potential clients, customers, partners and others to do business with.

We will show you ads called sponsored content which looks like similar non-sponsored content, except that they are labelled or sponsored ads. If you like, comment or share these ads, your action is associated with your name and viewable by others, including the provider of the advertisement.

Information to Advertisers

We do not share your personal data with any third-party advertisers or (other than hashed or device identifiers, to the extent they are personal data in some countries) ad networks for their advertising without your separate permission. But, if you click on an advertisement, the ad poster will identify that you visited the page, you clicked on. Also, advertising partners can associate personal data collected by the advertiser directly from you with our cookies and similar technologies. In such instances, we seek to contractually require such advertisers to obtain your explicit, opt-in consent before doing so.

Promotions

We use data and content about Members for invitations and communications promoting membership and network growth, engagement and our Services.

Research and Surveys for enhancement of Services

We use data, including feedback from public, to conduct research and development for the enhancement of our Services in order to provide you and others with a better, experience, more engagement on our Services and to promote growth in membership.

In certain instances, we work with trusted third parties to perform research, under controls that are designed to protect your privacy. We use the data available to us to research social and workplace trends such as jobs availability and skills needed for these jobs and policies that help bridge the gap in various industries and geographic areas.

In the event there are polls and surveys conducted by us and others through our Services, you are not obligated to answer to those polls and/or surveys and you have the choice about the information you provide. You may opt out of survey invitations.

3  Information Sharing and Disclosure

Profile

Your profile including your name is fully visible to all Members and customers of our Services. Your visibility settings, the subscriptions they may have, their usage of our Services, access channels and search types (e.g., by name or by keyword) impact the availability of your profile and certain fields.

Law and Security Investigations

We may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, legal process, , governmental request or regulation; to address fraud, security or technical issues; to protect the safety of any person; or to protect our or our users’ rights or property. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defences or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.

Posts, Likes, Comments, Messages

Our Services allow viewing and sharing information including through posts, likes and comments.

When you share a post (e.g., an update or an article) the default (which you can change) is to share it publicly. Others who are not your connections will be able to find (including through search engines) and see your post.

When you like, comment on or share another’s post, others will see it, including the person who initiated the post.

In a group, posts are visible to others in the group. Your membership in groups is public and part of your profile unless you change the default settings.

Any information you share through pages on our Services will be viewable by it and others who visit those pages.

When you follow a person or organization, you are visible to others and that “page owner” as a follower. We provide aggregate insights about the followers and viewers to the respective page owners.

We let senders know when you act on their message, subject to your settings where applicable.

Service Providers

We engage others (service providers) to help us provide our Services. We may share your private personal information with such service providers subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures, and on the condition that the third parties use your private personal data only on our behalf and in accordance to our instructions. We share your payment information, including your credit or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code, and billing address with payment services providers to process payments; prevent, detect and investigate fraud or other prohibited activities; facilitate dispute resolution such as chargebacks or refunds; and for other purposes associated with the acceptance of credit or debit cards.

Business Transfers, Sale, change in control and Affiliates

Rights to access and control your personal data

If you are a Member who is a registered user of our Services, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, delete, or modify the personal information you provided to us and associated with your account. We provide many choices about the collection, use and sharing of your data, from deleting or correcting data you include in your profile and controlling the visibility of your posts.

Account closure

You can also permanently delete your ConnecWrk account. When deactivated, your account, including your name, username, and public profile, will generally stop being visible on connecwrk.com. We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to “unsubscribe” from further messages from us. We will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed. Keep in mind that search engines and other third parties may still retain copies of your public information, like your user profile information, even after you have deleted the information from the ConnecWrk Services or deactivated your account.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at https://connecwrk.com/privacy.html. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via an update or email to the email address associated with your account. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.

Security

We take reasonable security measures and procedures, and as specified by applicable law, to maintain appropriate physical, technical and administrative security to help prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of Personal Information. We implement security safeguards designed to protect your data, such as HTTPS. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. However, we cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.. While we take these reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information, you acknowledge and agree that no system or transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You should take steps to protect against unauthorized access to your password, phone, and computer by, among other things, signing off after using a shared computer, choosing a robust password that nobody else knows or can easily guess, and keeping your log-in and password private. We are not responsible for the unauthorized use of your information or for any lost, stolen, compromised passwords, or for any activity on your Account via unauthorized password activity.
